MANE Received Award For Helping Youth


MANE was honored at the 55th Annual Youth in City Government  Appreciation Luncheon on April 10. The Staff of MANE received the Judge Joseph D. Phelps Friend of Youth Award for outstanding service to the youth of the Montgomery Area. The staff humbly accepted this award from the Optimist Club of the Capital City and pledged MANE’s continued service to the youth of the Montgomery Area.

Executive Director

Montgomery Area Nontraditional Equestrians (MANE), a non-profit equine assisted therapeutic riding program located in Montgomery, Alabama, is seeking a results-driven PATH International Certified Instructor to lead our exceptional Premier program staff. MANE offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience. Candidate must have five years’ instructional/management experience in equine assisted activities setting.

The successful candidate will:

  • Structure and develop content and standards for our PATH Premier Program.
  • Monitor performance objectives for staff, equine partners, and program participants.
  • Manage staff /Board/volunteer/participant relationships.
  • Work to provide support for all program activities, including financial oversight, fundraising, instructional content, equine and site maintenance, volunteer recruitment and training, and community partnerships.
  • Ensure continued development and implementation of best practices, policies and procedures, program protocols and services.
  • Gather, maintain, and analyze key program performance indicators, and alert the Board of Directors when targets are at risk.
  • Perform analysis and staff training as assigned in support of new program initiatives.
  • Support and prepare necessary documentation and program materials for ongoing PATH Premier Program Certification maintenance.

MANE is seeking an Executive Director with a proactive working style with demonstrated ability to prioritize responsibilities and activities. This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as staff management experience. The successful candidate must be an energetic, self-motivated, and adaptable person with a strong service orientation; someone with a “do what it takes” attitude.
