MANE HORSEMANSHIP/SPORTS
RIDING PROGRAM


Horsemanship/Sport classes are those aimed at riders whose focus is on acquiring and refining riding skills and other horse-related information. This may involve learning to prepare their horse for class, take care of their horse after classes, and learning about breeds, colors, markings and parts of the horse, an s well as the parts and care of the horse’s equipment. Riders are still passively receiving therapy through the input of the horses’ movement as they work to master a new skill.


RIDER REQUIREMENTS
Independent sitting balance, reasonable age-appropriate behavior, ambulation with or without assistance. This program will benefit individuals with the focus of further developing their riding skills to become and independent rider.


BENEFITS INCLUDE
Development of riding skills, increased fitness, coordination, balance, focus, problem solving skills, increased ability to set goals, and an increased sense of accomplishment as independence is acquired.

• MANE Physicians Statement
• MANE Student registration/update card
• Check (made payable to MANE) for $300


Applications (Have link to this section)
All riders must complete a participant application. All forms must be signed and returned to MANE with the rider’s payment or scholarship forms. Riders can not have lessons or an assessment unless all forms (including the Physician’s Statement) are turned in. All riders must follow the guidelines outlines in the participant handbook.
